Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Install software. Install web server hardware and software. Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software. Provide problem-solving services to network users. Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records. Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems. Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met. Collect data to identify areas for improvement within an organization's IT infrastructure.
